DBC: Site Design > Messaging

Messaging is a feature specifically designed for the Responsive Interface, offering a flexible way to communicate with users across various sections of the site. This functionality allows administrators to display important messages in key areas, including the login page, self registration pages, site footer, and checkout pages. These messages serve as a valuable tool for providing users with additional information, guidance, or updates as they navigate through the site, enhancing their overall experience and ensuring they have the details they need at every step.

Messaging is located within New Distributor Admin > Site Design. Once selected, you can choose between Company Messages or Distributor Messages.

Company Messages pertain to each specific company and offer five areas for customization: Login Screen, Self Registration Screens, Site Footer, Checkout Screens, and Store Information.

Distributor Messages pertain to the distributor as a whole and offer one area for customization: Login Communication. Once a Distributor Message is entered, all sites will inherit that message.

Company Messages

Login Screen

The login screen messaging is prominently featured on the login page, appearing just below the company logo. Typically, this messaging serves as a warm and welcoming greeting, offering users a friendly and personalized introduction as they access the site. It provides a great opportunity to make a positive first impression, setting the tone for a smooth and inviting user experience right from the start.

  • Login Instructions – Displayed below the login message

Self Registration Screen

The self registration messaging allows a company to provide organization-specific guidance to users as they set up their accounts, helping reduce confusion and minimize support requests.

  • Password Instructions – Displayed on the password entry page
  • Registration Instructions – Displayed on the account registration page

If no custom messaging is entered, the site will continue to display the default instructions. However, any text added by an administrator will override the default messaging for that step in the registration process.

This update gives  greater flexibility to align account setup instructions with their internal onboarding processes and password distribution methods, while maintaining existing behavior for sites that choose not to modify the messaging.

The site footer is a crucial element that appears at the bottom of every page, providing users with easy access to essential information. It typically includes helpful headers such as "Contact Us," "Send Us a Message," or "Reach Out," along with key details like hours of operation, phone number, and email address. When a phone number and email address are included, their corresponding icons are automatically displayed for a clean, intuitive look. While this footer content is currently static and cannot be updated directly, we recommend reviewing how it appears in a mobile presentation to ensure optimal text wrapping and layout. Feel free to modify the content as needed to ensure it aligns with your site’s needs and provides the best possible user experience.

Checkout Screens

The checkout screens offer a valuable opportunity to display additional messages throughout the shopping process, enhancing the user experience. These messages can appear on the shopping cart page, standard or distributed checkout pages, and the order confirmation page, serving as strategic touchpoints to provide users with important information, helpful reminders, or updates. Whether it's guiding users through the checkout process or offering last-minute details, these messages ensure that customers are fully informed every step of the way, contributing to a seamless and efficient transaction.

Note: Basic HTML is supported within the checkout messages.

Store Information

Admins can customize the text displayed in the store state modals and banners. This feature works in conjunction with the Store Start and Close Date settings, found under Company > Company Overview.

There are three messaging sections:

Opening Soon Modal

Shown to customers who visit before the store open date.

Field Default Text
Eyebrow Opening Soon
Heading We're getting the store ready.
Body The store opens on [Open Date]. Check back then to browse our full selection — we can't wait to share what we've been working on.
Date Opens [Open Date] (not customizable)
Tagline See you when we launch.

Store Closed Modal

Shown to customers who visit after the store close date.

Field Default Text
Eyebrow Store Closed
Heading Thanks for shopping with us!
Body The store closed on [Close Date]. Thanks to everyone who stopped by — we hope you found exactly what you were looking for.
Date Closed [Closed Date] (not customizable)
Tagline Until next time.

Closing Soon Banner

Displayed as a full-width banner above the page when the close date is 3 days or fewer away.

Field Default Text
Badge Last Call
Message Store closes in [N] days (not customizable; N counts down daily)
Detail Final orders accepted through [Date]. (not customizable)

Customization notes:

  • The Date, Message, and Detail fields above are driven automatically by the configured dates and cannot be overridden.
  • If an admin overrides only certain fields, only those fields will display custom text — all other fields inherit the defaults.
  • Overridden fields display in black, non-italic text to distinguish them from the default (italic) example text.
  • When using default text, the [Open Date] and [Close Date] placeholders are automatically populated from the admin-configured dates. If you override the body text and want to reference a date, you must type it manually — the system will not inject the date into custom text.

LOGIN COMMUNICATION

The login communication messaging is  ideal for broadcasting time-sensitive announcements — such as holiday closures or outages, to all sites at once. Once entered, all sites will inherit the message. This message appears on the login page between the Login Message and Login Instructions that are set at the company level.
