DBC: Items > Item Groups
Item Groups let you combine multiple related items into a single catalog entry. Instead of listing each variation separately, customers see one unified item with multiple options to choose from.
For example, a Lookbook could be grouped to offer a Printed Version, Flipbook, and Downloadable PDF — all under one selection. Similarly, a brochure available in multiple languages could be presented as a single item with a language option, rather than separate entries for each version.
Item Groups are located within New Distributor Admin, Items. This section displays a list of all Item Groups configured for your company.

- Add a new Item Group by clicking the plus “+" icon.
- Edit an existing Item Group by double-clicking it, or by clicking the edit icon that appears on hover to the right of the entry.
- Search for a specific Item Group using the search bar to filter the list.
- Delete an Item Group by clicking the trash icon that appears on hover.

To set up a new Item Group, expand the ITEMS section in your left nav and select Item Groups. From there, click on the “+." You will be prompted to enter the "Item Group Code." Enter a unique code to represent this group. This will end up being the Item Code that you select to place into the catalog. This must be unique. It cannot be the same as another Item Code already in DB/c. Click on "Add Item Group" once complete.
Basic Information
After clicking Add Item Group, complete the following fields:
- Item Group Name — The name assigned to the item group, used for searching and identification within the catalog.
- Dropdown Selection Label — The label displayed above the dropdown menu for end users. Defaults to Select Variety, but can be customized (e.g., Select Version, Please Select).
- Show Pricing — Controls whether pricing is visible on the item group. Defaults to your company's pricing display settings.
- Show Range — When enabled, the item displays the lowest to highest price across all items in the group.
- Catalog Image — The image displayed for the item group in the catalog. No image is selected by default; an admin must manually select an item from within the group to assign a catalog image.

Select Group Items
To add items to the group, click the grayed-out tab representing the company you are working in. This will display a list of the company's available items for selection. Additional company tabs are available if you need to include items from other companies in the group. To add items to the group, select the checkbox next to each item you want to include.

Note: All items within an item group must share the same Pricing Type (Standard, QB Freeform, or QB Restricted), as determined by the Pricing Method set on each item.
Managing Selected Items
The Selected Items tab displays all items currently added to the group. Each row includes the item's thumbnail, code, override item name, override item description, company, and pricing type. Once items are selected, you can customize how each item appears in the dropdown.
- Thumbnail — The image shown when the Item Group is selected defaults to the first item's image.
- Code — The original item code for each item.
- Override Item Name — Enter a custom name to display in the dropdown for each item. Defaults to the Item Code if left blank.
- Override Item Description — An override description can be added to display alongside the item image. To edit, double-click the item or click the edit icon that appears on hover. This opens a modal where the override description can be entered.
- Company — The company on which the item resides.
- Price Type — The image shown when the Item Group is selected defaults to the first item's image.
Reordering Items
Hovering over a row reveals a drag handle on the left side. Click and drag this handle to reorder items within the group. The order set here determines the sequence items appear in the dropdown.
Row Actions
Hovering over a row also reveals two action icons on the right:
- Edit (pencil icon) — Opens a modal where you can enter an override Item Name and an override Item Description for that item.
- Assign Catalog Image (folder icon) — Opens a selection prompt to assign the image that will be displayed to the end user on the catalog page.
Assign Item Group to Catalog
To assign item groups to a catalog, click the grayed-out tab representing the company you are working in. This will display a list of the catalog's available to assign the item group to. Additional company tabs are available if you need to include catalogs from other companies in the group. To add items groups to a catalog, select the checkbox next to each item you want to include.
