EQC: Item Settings
This course reviews the settings in Item Maintenance that control eCommerce. This information is sent to the eCommerce site by “Exporting to EQC."
The Client’s settings control pricing and display defaults. Some of those settings can be overridden at the item level. Hover with your mouse over the client default to see the selection.
Item Setup
At a minimum, the Item ID and both lines of description will be used in displaying the item on EQC. Edit an item to follow along with the instructions.
Item Class
a. Stock items generate Warehouse Releases.
b. Non-stock items generate a PO.
c. Sales Order Generation settings can override these settings.

a. In-Revision – used to replace image while item is in revision.
b. Minimum Order Qty/Weeks – per Order Minimum by quantity or weeks usage.
c. Maximum Order Qty / Weeks – per Order Maximum by quantity or weeks usage.
d. Assess Min. Order Qty – determines if the min/max is assessed by Item ID or Line Item.
e. Verify “Client Loc Usage” set to “All Locations." To send all usage to eCommerce.

a. From Catalog: Defaulted.
b. Default Unit Weight: Enter the item weight per unit of measure (required for live freight lookup).
c. Default Vendor: Assign a default Vendor.
d. Category: Assign the category.
e. Extra Freight: Additional dollar amount per UOM added to freight (optional).
- R/O tab: Enter reorder information which is available in the resupply catalog.
- Prices tab: Enter in the latest client price for the non-stock items in the "Latest Client Price" field. If Retail, enter the price in the "Retail Price" field if the price is different than the Latest Client Price. Enter price plans, if applicable.
- Restrict tab: Enter the restricted cost center(s). Options are to include or exclude the listed cost centers.
- Attribute tab: Enter in attributes for this item (if needed).
- Custom Field setup: Custom fields can be added to collect additional information.
EQC Button
Additional settings are broken down into eight tabs in the EQC button. Just as in Client Maintenance, some settings refer to the client default or can be overridden by item.
Drop down options display:
- Use Client Default
- Do the function
- Don’t do the function
If there isn’t a system default dropdown then the function is enabled at the item level.
General tab
Hover over the selection without clicking for the Client Default to display.
Upload to Internet:
a. Upload - Standard Item – item can be ordered and viewed on reports.
b. Upload – Reports Only – item cannot be ordered but can be viewed on reports.
c. Upload – View Only – item can be viewed but cannot be ordered. or seen on reports.
d. Do Not Upload – item is not sent to EQC.
- Template Control*: Defaults to Determine by EQC. * Message indicates Q-Design status.
- Upload Speclet: Override the Client Default.
- Allow Attachment: Override the Client Default. Max file size 20MB.
- Attribute Grid: Override the Client Default.
- Show Inventory: Override the Client Default.
- Force Item Detail: Override the Client Default.
Checkboxes:
a. Treat as non-stock – forces a stock item to create a PO instead of a release.
b. Requires Manager Approval – used as a rule in a manger profile.
c. Retail Item – flags the item to go to the retail site.
d. Batched Item – changes the order generation control to follow the "Batched Item settings."
e. Freight Exempt Item – item is excluded from the freight calculation online.
Descriptions tab
The Descriptions tab is broken down into 5 sub-tabs. An explanation is in bold script at the bottom of each sub-tab. Type the text in the window. When using HTML code, mark the HTML box. The Preview button enables viewing messages with HTML code.
- Short Description - used when displaying items using the List display option.
- Long Description – used when looking at the item details.
- View Cart Description – used in View Cart screen.
- Detail Property Note – used on the Property tab of the item detail screen.
- Key Words – enter additional words for searching. Enter multiple words separated by a comma.
Images tab
An item can have up to 35 images. The image in the Primary --> position is used to generate the thumbnail. See Image Guideline document for details.
- Add – add a new image.
- View – view the highlighted image.
- Remove – remove the highlighted image.
- Force graphic upload – check to send full image file (if changed).
- Alternate Image Text – this message displays when hovering over the image.
Qty tab (Quantity)
This tab controls the "Quantity Input Method." The Client default is determined in Client Maintenance > eComm > EQC Configuration > Display tab. Selectable Quantities display for items without price breaks. The quantity tables are filled in below then displayed based for Selectable Quantity options in the dropdown selection.
*If the item has a price plan, this section is shaded out.
Item Price tab
This section overrides the display of pricing from inventoried items.
Items w/single inventory price dropdown – one lot record with one price:
a. Use Client Default
b. Latest Client Price – from the item’s price tab.
c. Inventory Price – from the inventory lot record.
d. Don’t Display Price – no price will be display / charged.
Items w/multiple prices – more than one lot record that could have different prices:
a. Use Client Default
b. Latest Client Price – from the item’s price tab.
c. Weighted Average – averages lot prices.
d. Highest Inventory Price – highest price from all lots.
e. Lowest Inventory Price (not recommended) – the lowest price may be outdated.
f. Newest Inventory Price – newest lot record.
g. Oldest Inventory Price – oldest lot record.
h. Don’t Display Price – no price will be display / charged.
Use Latest Client Price if no Inventory:
a. Use Client Default
b. Replace Inv Price with Latest Sell.
c. Use zero (0.00) as Sell Price.
Non-stock items:
a. Client Default
b. Show Price
c. Don’t display Price
Note: Unless overridden, the price displayed online is used when the order is generated in EQ Distributor.
Categories tab
This tab displays Selected and Available categories. The Primary Category is assigned on page 3. Select additional categories by checking the available option(s).
- Show Used displays the category assigned on page 3 as shaded.
- Show Available displays all categories available.
Suggested tab
There are two sections, Related Items and Accessories. Related Items can be renamed in the Section Title field. Related items display in the bottom left. Accessories is a separate tab.
Download tab
The "Digital Asset Manager" feature is required. The download is for connecting this item to a Digital Asset in the library for download / sell on eCommerce.
Export data to EQC to update the website.
