EQC: Save and Restore Cart
This document outlines the steps for setting up and using the Save and Restore Cart buttons on the Cart Summary page. The buttons allow the user to save a cart for future orders. Template items are not saved in this feature; the templates have their own save feature.
The cart automatically saves the items in the cart when the user leaves the site without checking out. This feature allows the user to save multiple carts. When the cart is restored, all the items in the saved cart populate the cart.
Enabling Saved and Restore Cart
The option is enabled in Distributor Setup > Site Appearance > Ship Info & View Cart > View Cart.
- Enter the client ID or use Distributor Default to apply the option to all clients.
- Mark the option Enable for "Save/Restore Cart."
- Click Save.
The feature displays for all users of the client that was enabled. If set at the Distributor Default level, the buttons are enabled on all sites.
Saving a Cart
The Save Cart button saves the cart by each user. The user adds items to their cart.
- Add the items to the cart.
- Click the Save Cart button.
- Enter a description for the cart. The field accepts alpha/numeric characters. The field does not have a character limit. Due to column size, less than 30 characters is recommended.
- Click Submit.
- Close the window.
Restoring a Cart
When a cart is restored, any items already in the cart are replaced by the save cart that is being restored. The cart can be accessed directly from any page.
- Log in and go to the cart icon.
- Click Restore Cart.
- Click Restore Cart.
- A warning message displays to notify all current items in the cart are removed.
- Click Okay to the message.
- The items display in the cart.
Deleting Saved Carts
Carts can be reviewed and deleted. Click the Restore Cart button. The list of saved carts displays with the description. The down arrow to the left of the description opens the list of saved items.
The trash can icon to the right deletes the saved cart.
