DBC: Messages
This section allows you to create pop-up messages, e-mail blasts, or a combination of the two that you can show to certain groups throughout navigation on the site. These messages are not traditional pop-ups and will therefore not be blocked by pop-up blockers.
Messages can be set to appear when a user enters a particular area of the site, when a certain catalog is selected, or when a certain item is viewed. You may also control how frequently the message will show.
Create a New Message
Select "Work With Messages" option from the left nav. Click on "Create a New Message" to bring up the following page:
- Available Groups – select which groups this message should be applied to. You also can designate if newly created groups should automatically be included or not.
- Message Title – include what you would like the name of your message to be. It will appear at the top of the message when displayed to the users.
- Select if you would like the message to be Plain Text, or if you want to use HTML Text.
- Message Text – enter in the body text of the message to be displayed, using HTML tags as necessary. Spell check can be used on this text if needed.

b. Once per Location/Item/Catalog - this will only show the pop-up one time when the location, item, or catalog is selected. Within a single site visit, the message will show when the first location, item, or catalog triggers it. Once the user signs on again the message will not appear.
c. Once per Visit - this will show the pop-up to the selected type of every time the user signs on. It will only show once per visit, but if logged back in it will display one time again. This process will repeat itself every time the user that is assigned to the appropriate groups logs on.
d. Continuously - this will show the pop-up every time a user selects the location, item, or catalog type that was selected. This process will always prompt the pop-up continuously even if the user(s) has logged out and came back to the same area again.

- Set the message window size desired.
