EQD: Month End Outline

This document outlines the general steps used during Month End processing. The Year-End process follows the same workflow and is controlled by the ‘Fiscal Period’ settings in GL Configuration.


Invoice Releases

  • Invoice all Warehouse Releases and post the invoices to Accounts Receivable.
  • This step clears the allocations and allows empty inventory lots to be dropped.

Inventory

⚠️ Important: It is strongly recommended to complete this process on the last working day of the month or before starting any activity in the new month.


  1. Run and save Inventory Reports.
  2. Navigate to Inventory > Period End > Inventory Period End Processing.
  3. Click Add All and review each client’s ‘Closing’ period.
  4. Click Process.

Order Entry

  • Check for Un-posted Invoices (Sales):

    Go to OE > Invoices > Invoice Posting and update as needed.

  • Run and post the Commission Report (if commissions are paid):

    Go to OE > Period End > Commissions.


Accounts Payable

  • Print and review the Aged AP Report.
  • Print and review the Bank Register Report.
  • Run the Pre-post Report and review for accuracy.
  • Post AP to the General Ledger.
  • Run AP Period End Processing.
  • Optionally, generate Recurring AP Invoices.

Accounts Receivable

  • Print and review the Aged AR Report.
  • Run the Pre-post Report and review for accuracy.
  • Post AR to the General Ledger.
  • Run AR Period End Processing.
  • Run and post the Sales Tax Report (if applicable and paid).

General Ledger

  • Check for unposted journal entries:

    Go to GL > Edit/Post Journal Entries.

    Print the Trial Balance.

    Navigate to GL > GL Period End > GL Period End Processing:

    • If you have posted to a prior period, select that period from the dropdown and process to the current period.
