DBC: Responsive Interface > Responsive Only Features
The following features are currently available only in the responsive interface.
Requested By
The "Requested By" permission enables the system to display a date field that appears in the shipping section of the Checkout page. This allows users to specify a preferred date by which they would like their order to be fulfilled. The selected date is then displayed across multiple touchpoints, including the order confirmation page, order confirmation email, vendor print request (email/XML), order history, approval center, and approval action email. Additionally, the "Requested By" date is included with the order details sent to the distributor's back-office system, ensuring end-to-end visibility and coordination.
In Stock Date
The "In Stock Date" permission enables the system to display expected restock dates for Simple Items and Promo Inventory Items to end users for items that are currently out of stock. When a date is present, users will see a clearly communicated date within the Order Form Catalog or Item Detail Page, indicating when specific products—defined and managed by an admin—are anticipated to be available again. This helps set customer expectations and can improve the shopping experience by reducing uncertainty around product availability.
Simple Item Administration
Promo Inventory Item Administration
Due to the complexity of promo items having many potential variations, each with their own stock levels, current inventory levels will not dictate whether this date is shown. For promo items, In Stock Date will be always shown in these two areas if it has been specified and is not a date in the past.
Distributed Checkout
The "Distributed Checkout" permission enables the system to display an additional button at checkout that allows users to manage a single shopping cart while designating multiple shipping destinations for that singular cart. Users can select multiple "Ship To" locations, streamlining orders without needing to create multiple separate carts. Upon checkout, the system generates individual orders for each shipping location—each with its own order number—and sends them to the back-office system. Billing can be applied to a single cost center, credit card, or, optionally, allocated to the individual shipping locations based on configuration.
Distributed Shipping does not support:
• Approvals
• Custom Ship To Locations
• Shipping Attention To Field
• Shipping Misc Fields
• Shipping Delivery Instructions
• Coupons
• Spending Accounts
• Split Billing (Single select only credit card or cost center)
• Customizable Items
Credit Card Convenience Fees
The "Credit Card Convenience fee" permission enables the system to add an additional charge to a purchase when a customer uses a credit card. This fee helps customers cover the costs associated with processing credit card transactions.
The permission is disabled by default, and may only be enabled when the Credit Cards permission is enabled. When this permission is enabled, admins may set a convenience fee percentage, customize the name/label that will be referenced to end customers, and assign a charge code to identify these fees when reviewing orders internally. (These settings may be defined for a distributor as a whole, and the fee percentage and label may be overridden at the company level.) Once users finalize their payment methods at checkout, a warning will be displayed, and the Order Summary and Total will be updated to reflect the fact that a convenience fee based upon the amount charged to a credit card has been applied. Subsequent end-user facing emails and Order History pages will also reference any applicable fees.
Freight Rates at Checkout
The "Show All Freight Rates at Checkout" permission enables the system to including freight costs alongside carrier options. This aims to provide our customers with transparent and accurate shipping pricing at the point of purchase.
During checkout, after selecting the shipping address, customers will proceed to Step 2, where they will select their shipping method and see the freight charges associated with each carrier option. They will then continue with Step 3: Payment and Step 4: Review. This clear breakdown helps customers understand the complete cost of their order before finalizing the purchase. This feature is permission based so it can be enabled on a per company basis, located within Checkout > Freight > Show all freight rates at checkout.
