How do I hold/prevent ordering without taking my site offline?

Provide access to the site without the ability to place orders.

Resolution Steps

At this time, DB Commerce doesn't have a built-in feature to fully disable checkout, so the following would serve as the best available workarounds:

OPTION 1:

The easiest approach is to remove all shipping/freight options. This way, users can still build their carts, but won’t be able to complete checkout since no shipping method will be available to select.

OPTION 2:

You also have the option to hold orders. When this feature is enabled, you can set a specific date and time for when orders should be released. While the hold is in place, orders will not be sent to the vendor or transmitted to DB/d until the hold period ends.
