Based on the historical DBD tickets, here's what the "View Files" process is in DB Distributor:
The View Files feature is a built-in utility in DB Distributor that allows you to perform quick, ad-hoc queries on system tables. You can select specific data fields, apply search filters, and instantly export the results directly into an Excel spreadsheet.
Before You Begin
- To ensure the system initializes properly, open any standard menu option first and close it (for example, navigate to DB Distributor > A/R > Setup > Customers, and then close that screen) before attempting to launch the View Files utility.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Accessing the View Files Menu
- From the main DB/d software dashboard, right-click anywhere in the open area where the DemandBridge logo is displayed.
- From the pop-up context menu that appears, select View Files.
Selecting Your Data Fields
- Click the File Name drop-down list and select the specific system file/table you want to query.
- Choose the fields you want to include in your export:
- Click individual fields to highlight them.
- Click the double arrow (
>>) button at the top to quickly select all available fields.
- Click the Generate Program button to process and display your selected fields.
Filtering and Exporting to Excel
- In the search criteria window that appears, define your data filters by selecting the Field Name, the Expression (e.g., equal to, contains), and the target Value.
- Click the Proceed button to run the query. Your data will populate in the next window.
- Wait for the query status to show it is complete, then click the Export button.
