DBC: Vendors > Legacy Admin

Some vendor features have not yet been migrated to the new Distributor Admin interface and remain available in the Legacy Admin, including Show Vendor Ref Codes, Show Vendor/Item Assignment, and Bulk Vendor Assignment. To access these features, click the Back to Legacy Admin button within the Distributor Admin.

Show Vendor Ref Codes

This section allows you to view and create unique reference codes for specific company and vendor combinations. These codes are sent along with orders to help vendors identify customers by an internal name or alias. When you first arrive, the list displays all reference codes configured across all companies and vendors.

You can filter the list to show reference codes for a specific company, or to see all companies that have a reference code set up for a particular vendor. Click the Edit or Delete link next to any existing reference code to modify or remove it.

Creating a New Vendor Reference Code

To create a new reference code, click the Create a New Vendor Reference Code link at the top of the page and complete the following fields:

  1. Reference Code – Enter the unique code you would like to use for this company and vendor combination.
  2. Vendor Code – Select the vendor this reference code applies to.
  3. Company – Select the company you are creating the reference code for.

When finished, click the Create button to save.

Show Vendor/Item Assignment

This section allows you to look up the vendor assigned to specific items, or view all items assigned to a particular vendor.

  • Show Vendor(s) by Item Select a company from the dropdown to load its item list. Choose the items you wish to look up, then click Show Vendor to display those items alongside their currently assigned vendor.
  • Show Items by Vendor Select a vendor from the dropdown, then click Show Items to display a full list of all items assigned to that vendor, including the company each item belongs to.


Bulk Vendor Item Assignment

This section allows you to assign multiple items for a company to a vendor at one time.

To bulk assign items to a vendor:

  1. Click the Download Template link to download the import template. Left-click and choose Save to save the file to your computer.
  2. Select a Company from the dropdown. This will populate the template with the company's items and their currently assigned vendors.
  3. Select the Vendor the items should be assigned to.
  4. Click Choose File and browse for the completed template file.
  5. Enter an email address in the Status Notification Email field to receive a confirmation and log upon completion.
  6. Click Enqueue Task to submit the bulk assignment.
  7. Once complete, you will receive an email with the processing logs. Review the logs to confirm the bulk assignment completed successfully.

Note: All uploaded files must include a header row as the first row — this row will be ignored during processing. You can also export your current vendor assignment data by right-clicking the Export Current Data link and choosing Save.
