DBC: Screen Preferences

In this section, we will cover an area that has NOT been migrated over to New Dist Admin as of this

writing. Once you have toggled from New Dist Admin by clicking the BACK TO LEGACY ADMIN button at the bottom of the left navigation panel, click on Work with Companies in the left navigation and click

Edit for the company you would like to modify.

This will bring you to the main Company Information section in the top navigation. Click on the Screen

Preferences link at the top.

Checkout

This area allows you to fine-tune the fields/options that are used at checkout.

Name – This is the “behind the scenes” unique label for the fields available on the checkout pages.

Type – This value denotes the input type of the field. Select (drop-down), input, or text area.

Text Length – This denotes the secondary field action (checkbox, or height/width)

Checked – For checkbox input types, this determines the default selection.

Label – Editable labels can be modified here to alter what will be shown to the end user. Default values are pre-filled.

Prefill Value – You may alter (or enter) text to be used as the default value for this field. For example: “Select a Shipping Location” is prefilled for the ship-to location drop-down on the shipping page.

Mandatory? – Use this option to mark the field as mandatory so users cannot proceed without specifying a value. This is most used on the Purchase Order Number field.

WebEC Field – Fields with this option were not originally fields that would transfer their information into the back-office. With this option, you can select a web.ec “tag” that will determine where to send this information when an order is transferred into the back-office.

Default Location Value – For the five “Misc” fields on the combined checkout page, you have the option of specifying that the data defaulted in those fields should come from a specific field in the customer’s location code record. The drop-down list here shows all the data fields available from the shipping location record. If a field is selected here, when a buyer selects their location code on that page, the value contained in the field you selected for that location record would then populate into the associated “Misc” field.

Be sure to click on the Save Checkout Fields button to save your changes.

Labels

These values may be displayed to the user in various areas of the site that do not require user form inputs. These can be overridden to fit your needs. Click Save Labels to save your changes!
