DBC: Responsive Interface > Site Design, Navigation, and Catalogs

Upon entering the site, users will see a homepage, navigation options, and catalog assignments—each designed to enhance the user experience. The homepage is tailored to company or group settings, allowing organizations to highlight specific catalogs or items and customize the site’s appearance to reflect corporate branding, if desired. The navigation menu displays options based on the user's access level or group assignments. Catalogs are presented according to group assignments, ensuring relevant content is shown.

Site Design

Homepages

Under Site Design > Homepage TemplateTemplate A will be selected by default. It is strongly recommended to configure this or another template, as a Homepage is no longer optional, and will always be displayed alongside the catalog list.

Under Site Design > Messaging, this area was specifically designed for the Responsive Interface, offering a flexible way to communicate with users across various sections of the site. This functionality allows administrators to display important messages in key areas, including the login page, site footer, and checkout pages. It's recommended to add these messages and information upon setting up your site.

Navigation

Navigation options are dynamically determined based on the user's type or assigned group. The list of options include:

  • Account
  • Administration
  • Approvals
  • Assets
  • Orders
  • Reporting
  • Sign Out

An end user will always see Account, Orders, and Sign Out. Based on user type the user will see the Administration option. Based on group permissions the user will see Assets or Reporting. If a user is assigned as an approver, users will see Approvals.

Catalogs

  • The following catalog types are supported:
    • Default Catalog Style
    • Order Form
    • Asset Catalogs
      • The asset option will show within the navigation area. If a users group has access to an asset catalog, they will be taken to the legacy view of the Asset Library as this hasn't been redesigned within the responsive interface at this time.

NOTE: If a catalog is set up as the Carousel style, the system will display the catalog as the Default Catalog Style

  • Catalog styles set up as E-Library or Tap-Out catalogs will not show within the responsive interface
  • The catalog drawer has been removed in favor of a static navigation menu. This menu will collapse based on display size and will always contain all catalogs/sub-catalogs made visible to the user’s group.
  • Users may perform product searches from anywhere in the site, without having to first navigate to a dedicated Shop page.
