DBC: Responsive Interface > Site Design & Navigation

Upon entering the site, users will see a homepage and navigation options—each designed to enhance the user experience. The homepage is tailored to company or group settings, allowing organizations to highlight specific catalogs or items and customize the site’s appearance to reflect corporate branding, if desired. The navigation menu displays options based on the user's access level or group assignments.

Site Design

Homepages

Under Site Design > Homepage TemplateTemplate A will be selected by default. It is strongly recommended to configure this or another template, as a Homepage is no longer optional, and will always be displayed alongside the catalog list.

This functionality allows administrators to display important messages in key areas, including the login page, site footer, and checkout pages. It's recommended to add these messages and information upon setting up your site.

Navigation

Navigation options are dynamically determined based on the user's type or assigned group. An end user will always see Account, Orders, and Sign Out.

The list of all available navigation options include:

  • Account
  • Administration
    • Will only show if a user is assigned as an admin user
    • Upon clicking, an admin, will enter the Customer Administration area. This area currently contains User Maintenance and Orders and will continue to develop.
    • Any features not within the new Customer Administration area can be accessed by clicking the "Back to Legacy Admin" button.
  • Approvals
    • Will only show to users who have approval access.
    • Upon clicking, an approver will enter the approval center, where they can view pending and approved orders. (This area currently hasn't been resigned for the responsive interface, so approvers will see only the approval center within the legacy interface.)
  • Assets
    • Will only show to users who have access to an Asset Catalog
    • Upon clicking, the user will enter the asset catalog area, where they can download their various files to use outside of the DB Commerce platform. (This area currently hasn't been resigned for the responsive interface, so users will see only the asset catalogs within the legacy interface.)
  • Orders
    • This area will contain a searchable list of orders placed by the user. It includes a detailed summary, including images, of items ordered.
    • Customer Admin users wishing to review orders placed by different users will do so by clicking the Administration area and going to Orders.
  • Reporting
    • Will only show to users whos group has been given permission to view reports.
  • Sign Out
    • Logs the user out and takes them back to the login page.
